Legal Assistant Paralegal

We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our accounting team, in support of our Legal departments.

Position Overview

The Legal Assistant at Cohen Law Group plays a key role in supporting attorneys through document preparation, case management, and direct client communication. This position involves drafting and filing legal documents, coordinating with opposing counsel and third parties, managing discovery, and assisting with legal research. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling a fast-paced legal environment while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely case progression

Key Responsibilities

• Calendaring, scheduling, communicating specific and accurate data
• Filing in the Florida Courts e-Filing portal
• Conduct research to support legal proceedings
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents: motions, pleadings, notices of deposition, mediation, more
• Investigate facts to help in the resolution of legal disputes
• Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Record and store client information
• Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Filevine used daily

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate
• Multi-state experien ce i s a plus!
• Good understanding of office management and customer service
• Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
• Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach
• The ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, computer software, and online applications (CRM tools, Online analytics, Google Suite etc.)
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Experience in the roofing or construction industry is a strong advantage
• Reliability and attention to detail
• Must pass a background check
• Ability to commute to Maitland, Florida

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role operates in a professional office setting. The employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in noise level. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times. Ability to focus and perform detailed accounting tasks for extended periods .

Schedule

• Monday through Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
