Director of Student Engagement & Enrollment: St. Martin de Porres High School Position: Director of Student Engagement & Enrollment FLSA Status: Exempt Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 All applications must be submitted through our school website: San Martin de Porres High School is part of the Cristo Rey Network of Catholic schools designed exclusively for students of modest means. Our competitive edge is our Corporate Work Study program, which allows students to gain real world work experience while receiving a college preparatory education. Eighty percent of our students will be the first in their extended families to go to college. Our rigorous curriculum, which includes students working in a corporate environment, was designed specifically for our school by a committee of prestigious educational leaders. Saint Martin was founded in 2004, we are chartered by the state of Ohio and accredited through the Ohio Catholic Schools Accrediting Association. Our mission of College and Career Readiness is centered around five pillars: Work, Study, Serve, Lead, and Pray. POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Student Engagement & Enrollment will enhance the out-of-classroom high school experience by fostering campus community, student engagement, and young adult personal development. Key responsibilities include organizing campus events, advising student organizations, managing departmental budgets, and assisting with student orientation and leadership training. The Director of Student Engagement & Enrollment role will also support strategic recruitment, registration, and long‑term retention of students by building deep, supportive partnerships with students and families. The Director of Student Engagement & Enrollment will help drive enrollment growth through outreach while fostering a welcoming environment of belonging to encourage student involvement and boost student retention. This dual‑focus position bridges the gap between administrative operations (student enrollment) and community‑building (student engagement) to ensure institutional growth and student success. This role reports directly to the Chief Enrollment & Engagement Officer. Key Metrics: Success is primarily measured by retention rates, student involvement and leadership in campus activities, positive school culture, and student satisfaction surveys. Core Engagement Responsibilities Student Leadership: Manages and oversees student leadership roles including small group and convocation through training, accountability, and weekly planning meetings. Student Orientation: Create, plan and oversee the implementation of the 2‑week Lion Pride Institute Orientation and Overnight experience for incoming students. Student Life: Manages and oversees student life activities. Student Engagement: Plan and implement co‑curricular activities, events, and programs to foster a positive campus culture and student experience. Student Retention & Success: Oversee/Facilitate new student onboarding; coordinate efforts to support student success, including orientation, and connecting students with transition/support services to enhance engagement. Family Partnership & Outreach: Develop programs to welcome and support families, ensuring they are integrated into the school community. This includes hosting parent workshops, orientation sessions, and town halls. School‑Wide Activities and Community Engagement: Facilitate/support all‑school activities including special events and programs. Data Analysis: Utilize surveys, focus groups, and enrollment trends to assess program effectiveness and predict future needs. Inclusion & Belonging: Ensure recruitment and engagement strategies proactively reach under‑represented or diverse populations to foster an inclusive environment. Operations & Analysis: Supervise staff, manage budgets, and use data to evaluate the effectiveness of enrollment and engagement initiatives. Oversee Lions Den Spirit Store: Work with the Marketing Department for new designs, manage budget, and oversee student employees. Core Enrollment Responsibilities Enrollment Support: Participate in the full student lifecycle from initial outreach and recruitment to formal registration and annual re‑enrollment. Collaborate with Finance Team to process scholarships and with Corporate Work Study Team for student work permit paperwork. Manage campus visits and enrollment appointments. Support Enrollment Strategy: Develop and execute recruitment plans, including community outreach, high‑school partnerships, and managing the enrollment pipeline from prospect to applicant. Relationship Management: Promote school brand, build partnerships with internal stakeholders (faculty, administration) and external community members (feeder schools, churches, student/family centered organizations). Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Education or a relevant field. Experience 5+ years of experience serving in a secondary/post‑secondary environment – preferably in admissions, marketing, student life, community organizing, or school administration. Required Skills & Qualifications Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for presentations, marketing materials, and community engagement. Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and work in an equity‑minded manner. Growth Mindset and Positive Collaboration: Ability to work well with peers, subordinates, supervisors and stakeholders. Positive Role Model for students and the community. Analytical Abilities: Proficiency in analyzing enrollment data and market trends to drive strategy. Non‑Traditional Hours Availability: Weekend and evening hours may be required. Driver’s License and Ability to Travel: Independent commute to local schools/events, network conferences and other professional development travel may be required. Philosophical Attitude Understands and embraces the Saint Martin de Porres High School mission and the Cristo Rey Network’s Ten Standards for Mission Effectiveness, and the Five Pillars of Saint Martin: Work, Study, Serve, Lead, and Pray. Believes that all learning should be set in meaningful context and related to real‑world experiences. Utilizes pedagogical approaches that include but are not limited to Habits of the Mind, Socratic questioning, adult and peer coaching, adult and peer presentations, problem‑based learning, constructionist approach, inquiry methods, appreciative inquiry methods, and other forms of active learning. Person of faith but not necessarily Catholic. Appreciates that the school is driven by its Catholicity which focuses on the highest level of ethical, moral and social behavior of its students, staff and volunteers.
