Compensation: $37.00 - $38.00 / hour

Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst to join our finance team in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing customer invoices, managing billing through customer portals, and ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with high-volume billing environments, and hands-on experience with portal billing systems .


Key Responsibilities


Billing & Invoice Management

• Prepare, review, and process accurate customer invoices based on contracts, rates, and supporting documentation
• Submit invoices through customer billing portals and ensure compliance with customer-specific billing requirements
• Monitor invoice status and follow up on rejected or disputed invoices
• Maintain organized billing records and supporting documentation

Portal Billing Administration

• Manage invoicing through customer portals and electronic billing platforms
• Upload required documentation and ensure invoice accuracy prior to submission
• Troubleshoot portal-related billing issues and coordinate resolutions with customers and internal teams
• Maintain customer portal accounts and billing requirements

Analysis & Reconciliation

• Analyze billing data to identify discrepancies, trends, and process improvements
• Perform billing reconciliations and assist with resolving account variances
• Research invoice discrepancies and coordinate corrections as needed
• Support month-end close activities related to billing and accounts receivable

Customer & Internal Support

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, billing details, and payment status
• Partner with operations, accounting, and sales teams to resolve billing issues
• Ensure timely resolution of disputes that may impact payment processing

Reporting & Process Improvement

• Prepare billing reports and provide updates to management as needed
• Assist with improving billing workflows and process efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with company policies and customer billing requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable experience preferred
• Portal billing experience required
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred
• Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
