Job Title: Financial Analyst I

Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary:

We are hiring a Financial Analyst I to support the Program Accounting team. This role focuses on preparing monthly network payments and accruals, performing reconciliations, and delivering financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing workload independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and reconcile monthly network payments and accruals
Track and analyze financial metrics to identify process improvements and cost efficiencies
Work with large datasets using database and querying tools to generate reports and analytics
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Analyze financial performance and identify risks and opportunities
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Investigate and explain variances vs. budget and forecast
Prepare and review journal entries during month-end and year-end close
Support financial close processes ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements
Analyze invoices and accruals; identify and resolve discrepancies
Participate in process improvement and standardization initiatives
Review audits and streamline research, tracking, and analysis processes
Handle ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS , or related field (or equivalent experience)
1-3 years of relevant experience (industry or public accounting preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with large datasets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of Essbase and Oracle
Experience with database tools such as Teradata, SQL, Microsoft Visual Studio
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel , along with Word and Outlook

Additional Information:

Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, or variable schedules as required
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and attention to detail
Strong commitment to accuracy, deadlines, and continuous improvement
