A hospital pharmacist role is available for a 500-bed medical center located in Southern California. This contract position offers a dynamic schedule primarily Tuesday through Saturday, with shifts from approximately 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. There is potential for the contract to extend beyond the current end date of May 1, 2027, and a chance for the position to transition to permanent status.

The position requires an active California pharmacist license and a minimum of one year of hospital pharmacy experience. Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and verifying medication orders for accuracy and safety
• Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow
• Consulting directly with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient medication therapy
• Maintaining compliance with hospital protocols, pharmacy practice standards, and regulatory requirements
