About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Application Programmer III to join our Financial Crimes technology team in Charlotte, NC. This contract position spans 12 months, offering an opportunity to work on critical enterprise data engineering projects aimed at enhancing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring and surveillance capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in enterprise data management, ETL development, and big data technologies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable applications that support financial crimes detection and prevention initiatives. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams and business partners to refine requirements, develop innovative solutions, and implement best practices in data engineering and application development. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in software development and data engineering, with a strong background in Teradata 16.x, advanced SQL, BTEQ, TPT, and performance tuning. Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica 10.x, along with data migration and conversion projects, is essential. Familiarity with big data ecosystems including Cloudera CDP, Hadoop, Hive, Impala, PySpark, and Scala is required. Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting and Autosys scheduling is necessary for managing workflows. Candidates should have hands-on experience designing and building data models for large-scale AML datasets and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible. A Bachelor\u2019s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline is mandatory. Preferred skills include domain knowledge in Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes, along with experience in data governance and scalable data provisioning for surveillance platforms. Responsibilities You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications that support financial crimes use cases. Collaborating closely with business partners, you will help refine user stories and define technical requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals. You will estimate effort and deliver solutions through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within Agile frameworks. Performing proofs of concept will be essential to mitigate risks and validate new approaches. Building and automating CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible will be a core part of your role, ensuring efficient deployment and maintenance of applications. Managing technical operations, including change management, system maintenance, and platform upgrades, will require coordination with production support, platform teams, and upstream/downstream stakeholders. You will source, analyze, and model data, designing provisioning models for large AML datasets, and driving best practices and governance across data engineering workstreams. Additionally, you will develop current-state assessments, future-state designs, and transition plans with measurable outcomes. Effective communication of deliverables, timelines, and technical concepts to managers, peers, and business stakeholders will be vital to project success.
