TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27157!

Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU or PCU experience, CVICU preferred. License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General nursing and ICU skills. Experience with cardiac patients. Swanz and Impella experience required. Wound care and dressing changes. Defibrillation, EKG interpretation, and management of various medical devices. Description: New unit opening in early 2026. Initially opening as a high acuity progressive care unit transitioning to ICU by the end of 2026. Patient capacity will be 10-12 beds. Patient types will include heavy cardiac cases such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, tamponade, shock, and STEMI/NSTEMI. Care will involve patients post-cath, dysrhythmias, post-pacemaker/ablations, and post-CABG/open hearts. Experience with heart transplants, vascular surgeries, and certain post-surgical patients is required, although training is available for less experienced candidates. Initial patient ratios will be 1:3-4, transitioning to 1:2-3 in ICU. Will be expected to care for fresh open heart patients once transitioned to ICU. Experience with LVAD and post-cardiac transplant patients is highly preferred but not required. Support staff includes a CNA, charge nurse, manager, and various medical support teams available 24/7. Technology features include EMR and advanced IV and medication dispensing systems. Will float to other units within scope of practice based on staffing needs. Nurses will have the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative environment.
