Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a critical access community hospital, requiring 2+ years of RRT experience and critical access/rural hospital background.

Details

• Critical access community hospital with 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours guaranteed
• Every other weekend required, with holiday work as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Works independently with vents, various PAP modalities, high-flow O2, and performs PFTs
• Will work weekend shifts alone and must be able to function independently with minimal supervision
• EMR system used is Cerner

Requirements

• Current RRT certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• CRTs will not be considered for this position
• Minimum 2 years of current Registered Respiratory Therapy experience
• Critical access, community, or rural hospital experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must be willing to learn new skills such as home sleep testing and Pulmonary Rehab
• 6+ months of previous travel experience highly preferred
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Vermont RRT license required if applicable
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Sets up and operates various types of respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease/illness under supervision of the Technical Director of Respiratory Therapy
• Works independently with invasive/non-invasive ventilation, draws ABGs, and assists with airway management including intubations
• Functions independently and may face varying degrees of problems across patient care areas
• Business casual or personal scrubs of any color permitted
• Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• No more than 5 days of RTO accepted, with all requests required at time of consideration
• Strict attendance policy in place, with contract eligible for termination after 3 call-offs
• Call-offs must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
