Experience: 1+ years of recent experience working as a licensed RRT required.
License: Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
Certifications:
- BLS - AHA
- ACLS
- PALS
- Current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification


Must-Have:
- Active New Jersey license required.
- Every other weekend and holiday availability required.
- 1+ years of ICU experience required.
- Previous experience with ventilators required.
- Must be willing to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor.


Description:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
This role includes providing respiratory therapy under medical direction.
The therapist will educate, treat, manage, evaluate, and care for patients with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.
Responsibilities include performing intubation assistance and ventilator setup and management.
The therapist will gather all necessary information to evaluate patient needs.
They will provide patient-specific disease education as well as coordinate testing and consultations with other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Developing rapport and mutual respect with patients and caregivers is essential for fostering an optimal care environment.
The therapist must document education provided to patients and caregivers clearly based on identified needs.
Other duties and projects may be assigned as necessary.
Adherence to organizational competencies and standards of behavior is required.
The therapist should be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 1 hour a day.
Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors is expected.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
A strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of patients and caregivers is essential.
Teamwork and a passion for delivering the highest quality of care based on patient focus are required.
