ACCOUNTANT

Primary Responsibilities

The new Accountant will oversee the day-to-day operation of Business Office functions and strategic financial planning. In short, you will manage the daily activities of the accounting department.

Job Description

· Ensure completion of month-end reports, bank reconciliations and payroll processing

· Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting and inventory management in a constant search for operational efficiency.

· Compile and analyze financial information, report cost/benefit findings and make improvement recommendations.

· Assist in the coordination and review of agency financial audits and annual reviews

· Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors.

· Directing Accounts Payable function ensuring accurate and timely processing of payables, vendors, and employee expenses.

· Directing Accounts Receivables function ensuring accurate and timely processing of receivables.

· Leading effort to continuously improve AP and AR Asset processes with automation, standardization and procedural enhancements with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and customer service. Developing a system of controls to ensure data integrity.

· Collaborating with Engineering, Operations and all other company team members to identify, coordinating and implementing systems and process improvements with a focus on efficiency, accuracy and customer service;

· Serves as the Project Manager for any system upgrade or implementation; and develops a system of controls to ensure data integrity.

· Oversee the migration to a new ERP system

· Oversee all Purchasing functions

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· B.S. in Accounting or Finance REQUIRED

· Five years of progressively responsible accounting experience preferred

· Experience working with MS Office Products - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Experience with QuickBooks desktop and Online

· Experience with transitioning to new ERP systems highly desired

· Experience readying a company for a merger/ acquisition highly desired

· Leadership and/or supervisory experience of accounting teams in very fast paced environments is critical.

· Strong written and oral communications skills

· Ability to develop, analyze and interpret complex reports

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

· Strong initiative and self-motivation with ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Strong ability to self-regulate and stay cool and consistent under deadlines and work surges.

· Detail oriented with good organizational skills

· A self-starter approach along with the ability and desire to learn quickly and become a versatile team player
