Staff Accountant

Title: Staff Accountant Location: Denver,CO Duration: 3-6 months Compensation: $70-$75 Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Position Summary The Staff Accountant supports the accuracy and integrity of financial records by performing core accounting functions, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with financial reporting activities. This role plays an important part in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, audit support, and regulatory reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow their accounting knowledge while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations Prepare and record journal entries to support the monthly close process. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or variances. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Support regulatory reporting and required filings. Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement Support accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives. Partner with finance, accounting, and operational teams to support accurate financial reporting and business objectives. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and automation tools, including AI-enabled solutions. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Experience & Skills Approximately 2 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment preferred. Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
