Billing Specialist III

Description The Billing Specialist III serves as a primary contact/resource for all aspects of the revenue cycle, provides training to new employees and BestCare staff including “shoulder-to-shoulder” training, completes special project work and reporting as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serves as a subject-matter expert for the Billing staff to provide training and help resolve issues; Develops training documents and provides training to new BestCare staff; Serves as a primary contact and resource for all BestCare sites on all aspects of the revenue cycle, including coding, billing, and documentation best practices; Primarily responsibility to provide revenue-cycle reporting; Completes special projects as assigned; May be required to perform billing functions of other Billing staff, as needed; Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree in related field or HSD/GED and equivalent in related education/experience Minimum 4 years of experience with Epic software systems Minimum 4 years of experience with revenue cycle billing

PREFERRED:

Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Proficiency in Epic Software Systems High proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), databases, virtual meeting platforms, internet, and ability to learn new or updated software; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the full Revenue Cycle, demonstrated understanding of billing private insurance carriers (e.g. Pacific Source, Medicaid, etc.), familiarity with CMS billing rules and associated billing requirements; Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; Strong communication skills (oral and written); Strong organizational skills, scheduling, and attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; Critical thinking skills Understand of and ability to maintain strict confidence as required by HIPAA, 42 CFR, and Oregon Statutes; Ability to build and maintain positive relationships; Ability to function well and use good judgment in a high-paced and at times stressful environment; Ability to manage conflict resolution and anger/fear/hostility/violence of others appropriately and effectively; Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a diverse, multi-cultural environment; Ability to work independently as well as participate as a positive, collaborative team member #J-18808-Ljbffr BestCare Treatment Services
