Purchasing Assistant

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and looking to build your career in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain? We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join a growing manufacturing organization and support a high-volume purchasing team. In this role, you'll work directly with vendors, monitor purchase orders, track deliveries, and help ensure critical materials are available to keep production running smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with ERP experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for operations and supply chain management.

What You'll Do

• Maintain and update purchase orders within the ERP system to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
• Monitor open and past-due purchase orders to support on-time material availability.
• Communicate regularly with local and national vendors regarding order status, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Follow up on delayed shipments, shortages, and discrepancies to keep orders on track.
• Track incoming materials and provide timely updates to internal teams.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Assist with invoice reconciliation, reporting, and purchasing data management.
• Partner with purchasing, production, operations, and finance teams to support manufacturing needs.
• Contribute to backlog reduction efforts and continuous process improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with an ERP system and maintaining purchasing or operational data.
• Previous experience working with vendors in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, customer service, or administrative support roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to follow up and drive results.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer proficiency and data entry skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Michael, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
