Company-provided phone, laptop, and necessary field equipment OEM and factory training opportunities Long-term advancement within a growing service organization Tiello has partnered with a rapidly growing commercial HVAC equipment, service, and building solutions provider seeking an experienced HVAC Service Superintendent to help lead field operations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Position Overview The HVAC Service Superintendent will serve as a key technical and operational leader for the field service team. Working closely with service leadership, technicians, manufacturers, contractors, and customers, this individual will help ensure service work is properly staffed, technically sound, and completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day field leadership for commercial HVAC service technicians Coordinate manpower, technician assignments, scheduling priorities, and field resources Support startup and commissioning of factory-provided HVAC equipment Oversee warranty service, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and larger service projects Provide advanced troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues Visit customer sites to evaluate equipment conditions, technician performance, project progress, and service quality Help technicians diagnose difficult problems and develop appropriate repair strategies Coordinate with manufacturers and factory technical support when addressing complex equipment or warranty issues Oversee larger service projects involving technicians, subcontractors, equipment, materials, parts, and scheduling Ensure technicians have the information, materials, tools, and technical resources necessary to complete work successfully Review service documentation and ensure field reports are accurate and completed on time Maintain strong communication between technicians, service leadership, customers, manufacturers, and project stakeholders Assist with development and implementation of service department processes as the organization continues to scale Technical Leadership The Service Superintendent should be comfortable providing technical leadership across equipment including: Air-cooled chillers Water-cooled chillers Centrifugal and screw chillers Custom air handling units CRAC and CRAH equipment Fan wall systems Pumps and hydronic systems Cooling towers Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Electronic equipment controllers Building Automation Systems (BAS) Commercial HVAC electrical and controls systems Direct experience with every equipment type is not required, but candidates should bring enough technical depth to confidently lead experienced commercial HVAC technicians. A major component of this position will be helping build and develop the field service team. Responsibilities will include: Mentor and develop HVAC service technicians at varying experience levels Conduct field ride-alongs and provide hands-on technical coaching Help technicians strengthen troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities Identify individual training needs and opportunities for professional development Coordinate OEM and factory training opportunities Reinforce strong customer communication and professionalism in the field Help establish consistent service standards and best practices Support recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new technicians as the department grows Serve as a senior field representative during complex or escalated service situations Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to owners, contractors, engineers, and facility teams Develop strong relationships with customers and service partners Coordinate warranty issues with equipment manufacturers Assist with parts identification, procurement, and manufacturer coordination Support customers during critical equipment outages and time-sensitive repairs Identify opportunities where additional service, maintenance, or equipment improvements may benefit the customer Required Qualifications 7+ years of commercial HVAC service experience Strong hands-on technical background with large commercial HVAC equipment Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Service Supervisor, Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership position Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, electrical systems, controls, and commercial HVAC operation Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and manufacturer documentation Experience coordinating technicians, subcontractors, materials, and service work Strong leadership and technician mentoring abilities Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions during critical service situations Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred Qualifications Experience with air-cooled and water-cooled chillers Experience with centrifugal and/or screw chillers Factory startup and commissioning experience OEM experience with Trane, Carrier, York/Johnson Controls, Daikin, Smardt, Mitsubishi, or similar manufacturers Experience with custom AHUs, CRAC/CRAH equipment, or fan wall systems Familiarity with BAS and HVAC controls EPA Universal Certification OEM or factory certifications Experience helping build or scale a commercial HVAC service department Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has spent years in the field and has the technical credibility to earn the respect of experienced technicians, but is equally motivated by developing people and improving operations . You may currently be a Senior Chiller Technician, Lead Service Technician, Service Supervisor, HVAC Foreman, or Superintendent who has naturally become the person technicians call when they encounter a difficult problem. You understand that great field leadership isn't about knowing everything yourself. It's about giving technicians the resources, direction, training, and support they need to succeed while maintaining accountability for the quality of work delivered to the customer.
