Job Summary:
The Medical Records Specialist / Legal Assistant is responsible for the organization, maintenance, review, and tracking of medical records and related documentation for presuit and litigation matters. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills and familiarity with medical terminology and medical record charts..

Duties:
- Conduct client intake information for cases

-Gathering and regularly updating medical records, medical bills and radiology from various medical providers, including third party processing sites

-Opening files in the case management system

-Drafting correspondence

-Electronic file and serve of case documents in courts

-Prepare, draft, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence

-Manage e-filing in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines

-Maintain and track litigation calendars, including hearings, depositions, and key deadlines

-Coordinate scheduling of appointments, depositions, and meetings

-Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
-Handle general office and administrative duties as needed to support the legal team

Requirements:
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and terminology
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using document management systems and other relevant software applications
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
