Emergency Department Details:

• Level I Trauma Center
• Total number of beds: 59
• Annual ER volume: 101,692
• Number of ED physicians in group: 23
• Fast Track available: Yes
• Fast Track staffed by both MDs and APPs
• Approximately 40% of total ED volume treated through Fast Track

Patient Volume & Admissions:

• Percent of total hospital admissions received from ED: 81%
• Percent of ED patients admitted to the hospital per day: 12%
• Percent of ED patients transferred per day: 0.002%

Practice Details:

• Locum physician will be required to supervise other healthcare providers and residents
• ED staff does not respond to house codes
• ED physicians and ED residents write admission orders only
• ARD (Admission Residents on Duty) writes all care orders
• Required response time for on-call physicians: 60 minutes
• ED is responsible for monitoring/supervising paramedics and ambulance communications by radio

Referral / Transfer Details:

• Facility has a dedicated communication center
• Referring hospitals contact the communication center, which then connects with the ED physician to coordinate transfer
• Facility includes NICU, ACLS, and dedicated transport team
• Transport coverage extends across 27 counties in Ohio
• Local EMS transports patients directly from scene

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine - required
• PALS - required
• ATLS - required
• BLS - required
• Active Ohio license - required (facility will accept providers willing to obtain)
• Local candidate preferred
