Description:
We are looking for an experienced Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.
Reason for coverage is to add to the bench for future coverage.
Percent of total hospital admissions received from the emergency department is 81%.
Percent of emergency department patients admitted to the hospital per day is 12%.
Percent of emergency department patients transferred per day is 0.002%.
The facility has a Level I trauma designation with a total of 59 beds.
Annual emergency department volume is approximately 101,692.
There are 23 emergency department physicians in the group.
Fast track is available in the emergency department.
The fast track is staffed by both MDs and APPs.
Forty percent of the total emergency department volume is treated by fast track.
The locum physician will be required to supervise other healthcare providers, including APPs and residents.
The documentation system used is EPIC.
Emergency department staff do not respond to house codes.
ED physicians and residents write admission orders.
Admission orders are written only by ED physicians or residents.
The average response time required for on-call physicians is 60 minutes.
The emergency department is responsible for monitoring and supervising paramedics/ambulance by radio.
Referral protocols are in place through a dedicated communication center.
The ambulance response time for travel to the referral facility is approximate, with local EMS transporting patients from the scene.
There is 24-hour availability for radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray), laboratory services, and surgical services including neuro and ortho.
Anesthesia services are also available 24/7.
Consultants available include radiologists, critical care intensivists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, neurologists, urologists, hematologists/oncologists, and psychiatrists.
Initial EKG interpretations are done by the ED physician then reviewed by cardiology.
Estimated credentialing time frame is a minimum of 120 days.
Providers must get fingerprinting done immediately after acceptance.
