Locums Anesthesiologist Coverage

Dayton Children's is looking for locums anesthesiologist coverage starting August 10 – November 16, 2026! Assignment details include:

• Date of coverage: August 10th – November 16th, 2026
• Reason for coverage: Maternity leave
• Practice setting: Hospital based operating rooms
• Schedule: 0700–1530 Monday through Friday
• Call schedule and call ratio: N/A
• Average number of surgical cases per day: 50–60
• Average number of pain management cases: 0
• Will the locum tenens physician be required to supervise CRNAs? Yes, a mix of practicing solo and supervising CRNAs in a care team model
• Will the locum tenens physician be responsible for preparing the anesthesia cart? No
• Patient age demographic: Neonatal to adult

Facility information:

• Trauma level/designation: ACS level 1 trauma center
• Number of anesthesiologists in practice: 22
• Number of operating rooms: 14
• Annual ER volume: 70,000
• Description of OR staff: collegial team of RNs, surgical techs, PCAs, surgeons, proceduralists, APPs

• Board certified pediatric anesthesiology board [required]
• Must have completed a pediatric anesthesia fellowship [required]
• BLS, ACLS, PALS [required]
• Maiden name [required]
• Procedures [required]: General surgical cases neonatal, general surgical cases pediatric, general surgical cases adult
• Procedures [required]: Thoracic cases (except open heart), complex orthopedic cases
• Procedures [required]: Neurosurgical cases, ventilation management
• Pain management procedures [preferred]: Provide pediatric anesthesia services to all subspecialties with the exception of cardiac surgery and transplant surgery
• Pain management procedures [preferred]: Insertion of arterial line
• Pain management procedures [preferred]: Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
• Active OH license - [highly preferred]
