Job Description Summary This position is full-time, 35 hours a week, Fall 2026, 24 weeks. Posting will be open until filled. About URI The University of Rhode Island enrolls approximately 17,000 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs and is the State’s flagship public research university, as well as the land grant and sea grant university, for the state of Rhode Island. The main campus is located in the historic village of Kingston, and the Bay Campus is located in Narragansett. Both campuses are near major beaches in a beautiful coastal community. URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. Position Summary This temporary position provides seasonal support for undergraduate recruitment and application review during peak admission cycles. Serve as a representative of the University of Rhode Island by recruiting prospective students through on- and off-campus recruitment activities and by reviewing undergraduate applications for admission. Evaluate applicants in accordance with university admission policies and make admission decisions. Duties and Responsibilities Represent the University at high school visits, college fairs, and recruitment events throughout assigned territories. Conduct presentations and communicate admission requirements, academic programs, and student opportunities to prospective students, families, and school counselors. Review undergraduate applications and supporting credentials to determine admission decisions in accordance with university policies and established review guidelines. Travel and work evenings and weekends as required to support recruitment activities. Perform additional duties as required. Tools and Equipment Personal computers, printers, word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Demonstrated customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to evaluate information and make sound decisions. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office or comparable software applications. Demonstrated ability to lift and transport recruitment materials weighing up to 35 pounds. Willingness to travel extensively and work evenings and weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications No preferred qualifications listed.
