William A. Randolph - Junior Accountant

Randolph, Inc., a reputable general contractor based in Gurnee, IL, is seeking a Junior Accountant to work directly with the Project Accountant to work on our project accounting activities. In this role, you will assist in handling essential financial tasks and support critical projects, ensuring every financial component aligns with our standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

• 4 year degree is required, in accounting or related field
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits, AP/AR, reconciliations)
• Working regularly with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable tasks
• Assisting with invoice processing or data entry into accounting systems
• Working frequently with Excel (basic formulas, sorting/filtering; pivot tables a plus but not required)
• Paying acute attention to detail in data entry, numbers, and documentation accuracy
• Following structured processes (invoice routing, approvals, filing, etc.)
• Using organizational skills and ability to manage repetitive, deadline-driven tasks
• Communicating with internal teams or vendors for basic follow-up items
• Learning construction accounting processes (job costing, project tracking, etc.)
• Perfecting basic budgeting or expense tracking (academic or internship experience acceptable)

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• 1 year of accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry or a project-based role but not necessarily needed. (This is an Entry Level Position)
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially in Outlook, Excel, and Word, for effective communication and data management
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills to ensure accuracy and maintain high standards in financial reporting
• Knowledge CMiC construction management software or other construction software is a plus
