Make a difference in young lives by supporting pre-K students’ communication skills in a dynamic educational environment near Elizabeth, NJ. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Speech-Language Pathologist passionate about working with early childhood populations and dedicated to fostering meaningful progress in speech and language development.

In this role, you’ll provide individual support for approximately 35 pre-K students, with additional students anticipated through Early Intervention referrals. You’ll engage collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, evaluate students, support treatment plans, and participate in IEP meetings. Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices is highly valued.

Desired Experience & Certifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Previous experience in school-based, pediatric, or early childhood settings
• Familiarity with evaluation, treatment planning, and progress monitoring for preschool populations
• Comfort and proficiency with AAC devices considered a strong asset
• Ability to complete assessments and contribute to IEP writing and meetings
• All relevant district/state certifications required to be considered

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual speech-language therapy to pre-K students
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations as needed
• Collaborate with Early Intervention to support incoming students
• Create and monitor individualized treatment plans and goals
• Communicate progress with teachers, staff, and families
• Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings

Position Details:

• Contract assignment covering a maternity leave of absence (anticipated through at least November, possibly longer)
