Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support accounting operations and drive process efficiency within a collaborative finance environment. This individual will work independently, manage accounting processes from start to finish, analyze complex issues, and partner with stakeholders across the organization to improve operational effectiveness.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys process improvement, solving business challenges, and taking ownership of key accounting responsibilities.

Work Model:  Hybrid (1 day one week; 2 days next week (6x a month))

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM

Contract-to-Hire: 6 months | W2

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and ongoing accounting activities.
• Assist with documentation, reporting, and compliance-related activities.
• Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing support to team members as needed.
• Monitor performance metrics and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Take ownership of accounting projects and process initiatives from planning through completion.
• Manage and execute accounting processes with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal departments and business partners to resolve accounting and operational issues.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate and timely results.
• Demonstrated ability to manage processes and projects independently.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Experience working in accounting operations, finance operations, shared services, or a similar transaction-processing environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience mentoring, training, or coaching colleagues.
• Experience leading or participating in process improvement initiatives.
• Experience developing performance metrics or operational reporting.
• Background working in a large or complex organizational environment.
