Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a leading electrical contractor based in Dallas, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, K-12, higher education, and healthcare electrical construction projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Key Responsibilities Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low voltage, and emergency power Develop complete cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier quotations Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and scope clarifications Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, and potential project risks prior to bid submission Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client interviews as required Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during project turnover Assist with value engineering and cost‑saving recommendations throughout the preconstruction process Maintain current pricing databases, labor productivity information, and historical cost data Stay informed of market trends, material pricing, and labor conditions across North Texas Qualifications 5+ years of electrical estimating experience with a commercial electrical contractor Experience estimating commercial, education, and healthcare projects Strong knowledge of NEC requirements and commercial electrical construction methods Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting strict deadlines Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required Annual performance bonus Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and company holidays Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement (where applicable) Professional development and training opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr Blayze Group
