Not preferred but will consider Patient Types / Common Diagnoses Orthopedic surgery Spine surgery Trauma Vascular Surgery Medical Overflow Patient Ratios RN: 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8. Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.) BLS ACLS NIHSS (Resource Team Requirement) Skills Required General post‑surgical skill set to include: incision care, assessment, drains, chest tubes, wound care/wound vacs, mobility, education, trach care, NG tube insertion, use of braces/traction, etc. Support within the Department CNA: phlebotomy, ADL’s, Foley insertion/removal, peripheral IV site removal Charge nurse indirect as able IV/VAT Team Mentor to provide additional support, assist in finding policy information

Hospitalist 24/7 Remote telemetry monitoring House Supervisor provides additional support, serves as resource for information Patient Safety Attendants/Virtual Patient Observation utilized for patients in need of additional observation/redirection BERT Behavioral Response Team: deployed to assist in de‑escalation measures Rapid Response/Code Team: additional resource called with change in condition, respiratory or cardiac arrest Technology / Equipment EMR: EPIC IV Pump: BD Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips and Massimo Floating Region 1 – Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) – could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises).
