Solar Technician IThe Solar Technician I will be the junior field service technician for CSS' operations and maintenance of solar facilities. The Solar Technician I is responsible for supporting senior field staff in the safe and timely completion of all service obligations, learning CSS company protocols, and representing CSS in the field.Essential Functions:Prioritize safety daily and actively participates in site safety meetingsAssist with troubleshooting and repairing utility scale solar generatorsAssist with commissioning, quality assurance inspection, or preventative maintenance work as neededProvide timely Field Service Reports back to Operations staff for delivery to clientsEnsure a premium level of customer servicePerform vegetative maintenance as requiredParticipate in weekend and holiday on-call scheduleOccasional overtime work and overnight travel requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficiency reading technical specification documents, site plans, & electrical schematicsFamiliarity with tools, terminologies, and processes associated with electrical and mechanical trade workBasic understanding of the principles of electrical theory and photovoltaic power generationGeneral computer, network, and technology proficiencyUnderstanding & experience in the operation and concepts relating to electrical and mechanical trade workClear verbal and written communication skillsTeam oriented attitudeValues staff development and organizational excellenceMinimum Qualifications:Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record to operate a company vehiclePreferred Qualifications:First-Aid/CPR/AEDNFPA 70EOSHA 10Field experience in residential, commercial or utility scale solar PVPhysical Demands:Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequentlyAbility to work at high heights with the use of a safety harnessWork Environment:~90% of time spent in-field at utility scale solar facilitiesExposure to weather, extreme heat or coldExposure to native plants and, occasionally, animalsExposure to electrical hazardsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
