Join the opening team at Ondîne, the newest concept from John Fraser Restaurants. This intimate 35-seat restaurant in the West Village will bring together thoughtful hospitality, exceptional cuisine, and a wine program with real depth in France, exploring regions that rarely receive this kind of spotlight alongside other classic growing areas, led by Amy Racine.

At Ondîne, wine is an essential part of the guest experience. We are looking for experienced Servers with strong wine knowledge who are excited to deepen their expertise and engage guests in a thoughtful, approachable way.

You do not need to identify as a traditional Sommelier to be successful in this role. We are looking for hospitality professionals who are genuinely curious about wine, confident discussing it with guests, and eager to learn alongside a team of passionate wine professionals.

This is a rare opportunity to join a small, highly collaborative opening team and help establish the culture, standards, and hospitality that will define Ondîne from day one.

What We're Looking For

• Experienced servers with a strong foundation in wine and a genuine desire to continue learning.
• A warm, approachable, and modern point of view on wine; comfortable discussing an emerging producer with the same enthusiasm as a benchmark name.
• Strong knowledge of French wine regions, varietals, and food and wine pairings.
• The ability to confidently guide guests through a wine list while meeting them wherever they are in their wine journey.
• A background in refined, guest-focused dining with a demonstrated commitment to craft and hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of culinary technique and ingredients, with the ability to speak thoughtfully about the kitchen's dishes.
• Confidence providing polished, attentive table service while incorporating wine naturally into the guest experience.
• Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a warm, gracious approach to hospitality.
• A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• Full-time evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

What You'll Do

As a Server with strong wine knowledge, you'll be responsible for delivering memorable dining experiences through exceptional table service and thoughtful wine guidance.

You'll help guests navigate a wine program with real depth in France, including lesser-represented regions, while creating an experience that feels knowledgeable, personal, and never intimidating.

You will:

• Provide polished, attentive, and genuinely warm table service.
• Guide guests through wine selections based on their preferences, curiosity, and the food they are enjoying.
• Develop deep knowledge of Ondîne's wine list and continually evolving offerings.
• Maintain proper wine presentation and service standards.
• Work closely with the culinary and beverage teams to create cohesive food and wine experiences.
• Support wine inventory, organization, and special events.
• Participate in ongoing wine education and team training.
• Contribute to the culture, standards, and service philosophy of the opening team.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($17.00) plus tips
