Overview of the Role and Qualifications

Respiratory Therapy involves the evaluation and treatment of patients experiencing both acute and chronic issues related to the cardiopulmonary system. A comprehensive understanding of the cardiopulmonary system's pathophysiology and the intricate procedures necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment across all age groups is crucial.

Your Responsibilities:

Under the general oversight of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor or Team Leader, you will carry out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as prescribed by a physician.

Your tasks will encompass:

• Administering medical gases and aerosol therapy.
• Collecting and analyzing blood samples.
• Conducting patient tests.
• Operating and maintaining various respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Providing mechanical ventilation and managing artificial airways.
• Assisting in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Educating patients and monitoring their responses to therapy.

Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting inpatient and departmental records, cleaning equipment, and adhering to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications Required:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license from the relevant state board (NBRC CRT).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within six months of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be acquired within 30 days of starting employment.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within six months of hire.
• Preferred: One year of recent clinical experience.
• Recommended: Registration as a Respiratory Therapist.
