DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role supports highway improvement projects by researching property details, conducting site visits, and developing fair and accurate appraisals. It ensures that land acquisitions meet legal standards and reflect true market conditions. As a Real Estate Appraiser, you will perform the following duties: Property Research: Investigate ownership records, easements, covenants, and deed descriptions to understand all relevant details Site Evaluation: Visit affected properties and collect information relating to market value, depreciation, liens, judgments, and property features Valuation Methods: Apply appropriate appraisal methods to establish accurate property values Damage Assessment: Assist with preparing damage estimates and support project staff through appraisal reviews and analyses Market Analysis: Develop market value estimates by reviewing comparable sales, zoning restrictions, market trends, and environmental factors Stakeholder Support: Provide clear information to property owners, legal staff, municipal officials, and claim settlement agents Interested in learning more? WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,008.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser certification.
