Associate Attorney

Hayes, Ortega & Sanchez seeks an associate for our Los Angeles County office.Our firm represents private sector labor unions, public sector employee associations and their members. Our practice includes litigation (federal, state, and appellate), arbitration, administrative hearings, labor contract negotiations, and the providing of advice and guidance to labor unions. The attorneys and staff at the firm are friendly and supportive, the atmosphere is collegial, and the issues are both challenging and interesting.The successful candidate will primarly represent labor unions in arbitrations contesting discipline or violations of the provision of a labor contract. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated interest or experience in Labor and Employment Law. Excellent Research skills, including case law, statutes, regulations, and administrative decisions. Effective Negotiation abilities for collective bargaining, contract discussions, and dispute resolution. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership (or eligibility) with the California State Bar. Strong written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting legal documents and presenting arguments.
