General ForemanMortenson is currently seeking a General Foreman that will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing foreman and craft team members based on the project schedule and state and federal requirements.ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work proceduresSupervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft workersInterpret specifications, blueprints, and job ordersInterpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulationsEstablish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnelStudy and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of jobAnalyze and resolve work problemsMaintain time recordsMake cost estimates for contractsUse logical step-by-step procedures in workPlan work and solve problemsMake decisions based on measurable informationOperate machinery as neededLead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performanceEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsAll other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum of five (5) years related experienceStrong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, ability to work according to detailed, standard instructions and well-defined, established proceduresAbility to determine work method from alternatives, work under broad assignments, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackRepetitive hand, arm, leg movements*Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling: up to 50 lbs.Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
