Office Manager

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP40000 per annum Location: Abingdon Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced Office Manager / Bookkeeper to join a well‑established engineering business based in Abingdon. This is a varied position where you'll take ownership of the day‑to‑day running of the office while managing the company's bookkeeping and supporting the wider team. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, has excellent organisational skills, and is confident managing financial administration. Key Responsibilities Managing the day‑to‑day operations of the office Processing purchase and sales invoices Bank reconciliations and credit control Preparing VAT returns and assisting with month‑end processesManaging payroll and pension administration (if experienced) Liaising with external accountants Maintaining accurate financial records Ordering office supplies and managing office facilities Providing administrative support to the management team Handling customer and supplier enquiries Maintaining company records and documentation About You Previous experience in an Office Manager and/or Bookkeeping role Strong bookkeeping experience with a good understanding of accounting principles Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks Excellent organisational and time‑management skills Strong attention to detail Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Professional communication skills Ability to prioritise workload and work independently AAT qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential) Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing or construction environment Competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience Monday to Friday working hours Company pension On‑site parking Friendly and supportive working environment Long‑term opportunity with a growing engineering business If you're an organised Office Manager with strong bookkeeping experience looking to join a successful engineering company in Abingdon, we'd love to hear from you.
