Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Herndon, Virginia. The facility is designed specifically to support physical therapy practices, equipped with the latest technology and resources to aid in patient recovery. You will be part of a close-knit team that collaborates daily to remove barriers to access and implement strategies that improve patient experiences. The standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a well-structured work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with pertinent state practice acts and maintain adherence to laws regulating the practice of physical therapy.
• Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients to develop individualized treatment plans addressing functional limitations and disabilities.
• Administer evaluation services that include reviewing patient histories, conducting specific assessments, and documenting recommendations effectively.
• Implement treatment protocols tailored to the patient's unique needs and conditions, adjusting treatment plans based on patient progress and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care, documenting changes in patient conditions that necessitate modifications to treatment plans.
• Complete discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of all patient care activities.
• Maintain compliance with corporate clinical services training and regulatory requirements at local, state, and federal levels.
• Identify and document the medical necessity for physical therapy for patients under your care.
• Actively participate in facility meetings and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing access and quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with patients requiring rehabilitation for orthopedic issues, including post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. Utilizing evidence-based practices, you will address each patient's specific needs, guiding them through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and education about maintaining function and mobility.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of two years of outpatient orthopedic experience is mandatory.
• Certification in CPR is required.

Preferred Experience

While not required, experience with specific patient populations or specialized rehabilitation techniques may be advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and outcome measurement tools will also be beneficial as you will utilize these technologies to document patient progress efficiently.
