Drill Operator

Job Summary: As an Operator I, II, or III, you will ultimately be responsible for operating directional drilling equipment, locating predetermined bore paths, and supporting underground utility construction projects. You will coordinate drilling activities, maintain equipment, and deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality construction services. As an Operator, your customers are Congruex project teams and clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safety, productivity, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): • Operate drilling and various construction equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures • Drill and/or locate predetermined bore paths while safely avoiding underground utilities and obstacles • Load, unload, inspect, and maintain heavy equipment, support vehicles, and trailers • Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to support project execution • Assist with conduit placement, potholing, proofing conduits, concrete work, asphalt placement, and trench support • Communicate with supervisors and crew members regarding project progress, jobsite safety, and operational needs • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs Required Qualifications: Education, Licensing, and Certifications • High school diploma or equivalent required • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required Experience • Minimum 1 year of prior drilling or locating experience in underground utility construction • Experience operating heavy equipment near active utilities Skills and Abilities • Ability to safely operate drilling equipment and related heavy machinery • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and company safety regulations • Knowledge of basic computer skills and shoring methods Preferred Qualifications: • CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain • DOT Medical Card or willingness to obtain • Experience with Ditch Witch and Vermeer equipment Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, and work outdoors for extended periods • Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment and machinery • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and additional safety gear as required • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and MVR Congruex Culture & Benefits: Congruex's culture of safety and performance is built on the 4X Factor core values of Be Safe, Be Accountable, Be Respectful, and Earn Trust. Advancement includes increased responsibility, equipment mastery, and the ability to train and mentor team members. Higher-level operators may also be cross-trained in additional field positions and maintain advanced certifications such as OSHA 30. Compensation will be determined within the posted hourly range based on skills, experience, and equity to employees in similar roles. Some benefits have eligibility criteria.
