Director Total Rewards
Fleet Farm
Compensation Manager / Total Rewards Leader (Director Consideration Based on Experience) About Us At Fleet Farm, we're more than a retailer - we’re a team committed to serving our customers, supporting our communities, and investing in our people. As we continue to evolve and grow, we are focused on building programs and processes that support our team members and business strategy. We are seeking a strategic compensation professional to help shape the future of our Total Rewards strategy. This role is an opportunity for a builder who can evaluate, redesign, and transform compensation programs using data-driven analysis, market insights, and best practices. We are looking for someone who can move beyond maintaining existing processes and create scalable compensation solutions that support our business strategy, attract top talent, and reward our team members. For the right individual, this opportunity may be considered at the Director of Total Rewards level based on experience, expertise, and strategic impact. What You’ll Do As the Compensation Manager / Total Rewards Leader, you will play a critical role in evaluating, enhancing, and evolving Fleet Farm’s compensation programs across our stores, distribution centers, and Store Support Center. You will partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders to develop compensation solutions that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our organizational goals. Key responsibilities include: Evaluate Fleet Farm’s current compensation programs and develop recommendations to strengthen our compensation philosophy, processes, and overall Total Rewards strategy. Design, enhance, and manage compensation programs that support business objectives, talent needs, and organizational growth. Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, benchmarking, and internal equity analyses to ensure compensation decisions are data-driven and consistent. Develop and maintain salary structures, pay ranges, job architecture, and compensation guidelines. Analyze external market data, regional pay differences, and industry trends to provide insights and recommendations to leaders. Lead annual compensation processes, including merit planning, salary reviews, market adjustments, and incentive programs. Partner with HR Business Partners, Finance, Payroll, and business leaders to provide compensation expertise and guidance. Create reporting, analytics, and dashboards that translate compensation data into actionable insights. Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, systems, and tools to create a more efficient and transparent experience. Develop communication strategies and resources to help leaders and team members understand compensation programs and practices. Stay current on compensation trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure Fleet Farm’s programs remain competitive. Who You Are You are a strategic compensation professional who enjoys solving complex problems, analyzing data, and building solutions. You have the ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on execution and are energized by the opportunity to create meaningful change. You bring: Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, and improving compensation programs within a complex organization. Strong knowledge of compensation methodologies, including market pricing, job evaluation, salary benchmarking, pay structures, and compensation philosophy. Experience using compensation data and analytics to make recommendations and influence business decisions. The ability to evaluate current programs, identify gaps, and develop practical solutions that improve effectiveness. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly. Confidence partnering with executives, HR leaders, and business stakeholders to influence compensation decisions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex compensation concepts in a clear and approachable way. Experience working in a multi-location environment such as retail, distribution, manufacturing, or corporate settings is preferred. A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to thrive in an evolving environment. Why Join Fleet Farm? At Fleet Farm, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of our Total Rewards strategy. This is not a role focused solely on maintaining existing programs - it is an opportunity to help build, improve, and modernize compensation practices that support our team members and business growth. You’ll partner with leaders across the organization, influence company-wide compensation decisions, and create solutions that directly impact how we attract, reward, and retain great people. If you are a compensation leader who enjoys analyzing challenges, creating innovative solutions, and building programs that make a difference, Fleet Farm offers the opportunity to do meaningful work and see the impact of your contributions.
