Our team is available around the clock, providing advanced orthopedic trauma care, which includes both immediate surgical and non-surgical interventions for severe injuries affecting bones, joints, and soft tissues. As an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon with us, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering emergency surgical care, encompassing both immediate surgical and non-surgical treatment for traumatic injuries to bones, joints, and soft tissues.
• Executing advanced reconstructive surgeries for complex fractures, including procedures related to the pelvis and acetabulum.
• Working closely with trauma teams, anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, rehabilitation staff, and other multidisciplinary professionals to provide integrated, high-quality patient care.
• Engaging in the education and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students in surgical techniques and trauma management.
• Overseeing inpatient and trauma-related orthopedic cases, emphasizing timely interventions and long-term recovery.
• Accurately documenting patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of the trauma program.

• Education: A Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution is required, along with the completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency. Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma is preferred.
• Experience: Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery is required (or board eligibility with active pursuit of certification). Experience in trauma care, complex fracture management, and high-volume trauma environments is preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: An active Maryland medical license (or eligibility to obtain one) is necessary. Current DEA Registration and CDS permit are required, along with BLS (CPR) certification; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must demonstrate critical thinking, extensive clinical competence, and surgical expertise in orthopedic trauma. Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams at all levels are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong organizational skills, are required. Familiarity with case management, outcomes management, and managed care is beneficial.
