Job Description Job Description Applications Engineer – Battery Systems Location : Houston, Texas (Ideal) / Remote with Travel Base Salary: $140K - $160K + Commission Total Compensation : $200K - $250K About the Role: We are seeking an Applications Engineer with a strong technical background in battery systems and energy storage solutions. This role focuses on providing technical support to our customers, performing initial design work, and assisting in the validation of hardware solutions. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in battery pack design and integration, and an ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to clients. Key Responsibilities: Preliminary Design Work: Lead the design of initial product concepts, including battery systems, energy storage solutions, and related components. Customer Support: Provide technical guidance to customers, addressing inquiries and offering solutions that meet their specific needs. Be the technical point of contact during the design and validation phases. Product Validation: Ensure product designs meet customer requirements, perform testing, and support validation efforts to ensure successful implementation. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, engineering, and product development teams to ensure that the products align with customer expectations and project timelines. Technical Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, specifications, and test reports that outline the product design, validation, and performance criteria. Customer Engagement: Help in the pre-sales phase by providing technical insights and support to the sales team to close deals effectively. Travel: Travel as needed to meet with customers and support product implementations. Qualifications : Experience: 5+ years of experience in applications engineering, battery systems, energy storage, or similar fields, with hands-on involvement in the design and validation of battery packs or energy storage systems. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of battery technologies (Li-ion, BESS, etc.), battery pack design, energy storage solutions, and related hardware. Industry Background: Experience with battery cell manufacturers, pack manufacturers, or strategic engagements in the energy or automotive industries. Customer-Facing Skills: Ability to work directly with customers, address technical concerns, and offer solutions. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset to meet customer needs. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Location: Based in Houston, Texas preferred. Remote work is acceptable with the willingness to travel.
