Senior Transportation Planning Project ManagerNitsch Engineering is seeking a Senior Transportation Planning Project Manager to join our team at one of our three Massachusetts offices: Boston, Worcester, or Lawrence. As we continue to grow our market share, we strive to position ourselves and build on our successful model of client delivery by expanding our transportation engineering capabilities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and oversee all aspects of transportation planning projects for local and state government clients (MassDOT, City of Boston, Municipal Agencies, and regional transportation planning agencies)Lead business development efforts to expand municipal client base, and expand Transportation Planning work at the regional and state levelDevelop and maintain relationships with MassDOT Office of Transportation Planning staff, and at regional transportation planning agencies (i.e. MAPC, NMCOG, CMRPC, etc.)Staff and supervise the project team (including subconsultants), coordinating their efforts, mediating any disagreements, mentoring staff, and making decisions which reflect the best interest of both the company and its clientsPerform technical quality control reviewsPrepare and oversee the preparation of milestone and final submissionsManage Transportation Feasibility Studies, Safety Action Plans, Conceptual Design Development and Alternative Analysis, Vision Zero Plans, and Corridor StudiesLead public involvement and community outreach effortsOversee the preparation of Transportation Planning and engineering reportsDevelop new business and serve as the face of Nitsch for conferences and professional organizationsLead and advocate for the professional development of existing staffRequirementsBS in Civil EngineeringAICP certification, OR Massachusetts Professional Engineer License (or the ability to obtain one within one year if currently licensed in another state)15+ years of experience in Transportation PlanningKnowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client managementAbility to see the big picture and create staffing plans to adequately staff both current and future projectsExperience in performing and overseeing analysis and design, preparing calculations, developing details, preparing specifications and estimates as well as managing the preparation of bid documents is requiredUnderstanding of project metrics, including scope, budget, multiplier, additional service needs, and programs used to track metricsExperience with construction administration services including interpreting design intent, evaluating construction for compliance with contract documents, and directing of engineering support personnelExperience in preparing proposals, business development, and the ability to make public presentationsAs an employee-owned firm, we're proud to offer rewarding ownership opportunities and an annual bonus program that reflects our shared success.
