Caterpillar currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Technician I position supporting Reman Drivetrain located in the West Fargo, ND facility. Manufacturing Technician I performs inspections of materials and verifies process results to ensure conformance to specifications, requirements, and guidelines. In addition, Manufacturing Technician I can setup/read measuring equipment to determine disposition of parts. Education High School diploma or equivalent preferred Two-year tech school degree or equivalent experience preferred Basic Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience in quality, inspection or machining preferred Background in MRP/ERP software systems as well as MS Office preferred; preference given to candidates with SAP knowledge and product knowledge Must possess ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment General Tasks and Responsibilities Use precision measuring devices to effectively inspect parts Operate machinery such as hand tools and air tools Backup for computerized inspection equipment such as FARO CMM and Faro Laser tracker to measure pivot shafts as required Apply and correctly interpret reusability guidelines and determine disposition of materials Assist in the development of reusability guidelines and work instructions Perform incoming receiving inspection Perform 1st article inspections on non-standardized parts Able to operate pallet jacks and other moving equipment Responsible for identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary Any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop Other duties as assigned People Related Tasks and Responsibilities Promote a culture based on our Values in Action Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and use the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed Work with variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs and to perform job related tasks Proven ability to work in a team setting Serve as a positive role model and contribute to team effort by supporting all employees in our organization Ensure customer requirements are met Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity Ability to Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnel Compensation & Benefits Offered!
