Assistant General Counsel & Vice President About the Company Globally recognized asset management firm Industry Financial Services Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel / VP to join its legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal support to the equity, fixed income, and multi-asset investment management businesses. This includes assisting in the structuring, organization, offering, and maintenance of various investment vehicles such as private funds, sub-advised mutual funds, and separately managed accounts. The role also involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating relevant documentation, as well as working closely with portfolio management, global distribution, finance, operations, and compliance teams. Experience in derivatives trading documentation and a background in corporate governance issues are also important. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, with a minimum of 3 years' direct investment management experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the formation and maintenance of investment funds, including the associated legal and compliance requirements. Experience in corporate restructurings, particularly involving loan and high-yield bonds, is a bonus. The role requires excellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and take the initiative on a broad range of projects.
