Senior Accountant / Accounting Cleanup & Financial Reconstruction Specialist About United Imports 1 Inc. United Imports 1 Inc. is a rapidly growing U.S.-based company specializing in wholesale distribution, inventory management, reverse logistics, liquidation, import/export, and multi-warehouse operations. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Cleanup & Financial Reconstruction Specialist to lead a comprehensive accounting cleanup and historical financial reconstruction project involving approximately five years of accounting records across multiple business entities and bank accounts. This is NOT a routine accounting position. We are looking for an accounting expert who has successfully completed complex Accounting Cleanup and Historical Financial Reconstruction projects. The selected candidate will work directly with ownership and operations to build a clean, scalable, and audit‑ready accounting system that will support the company's long‑term growth. Position Summary This position requires working on-site at our headquarters in Garland, Texas. The selected candidate will be responsible for rebuilding approximately five years of historical accounting records, reconciling financial data, correcting accounting discrepancies, organizing accounting documentation, and implementing a scalable accounting system for future operations. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working closely with warehouse operations, inventory management, purchasing, sales, banking, and executive leadership. Required Qualifications Accounting Cleanup Proven experience leading Accounting Cleanup projects. Catch‑up Accounting Demonstrated experience rebuilding multiple years of accounting records. Historical Financial Reconstruction Experience reconstructing historical financial records from incomplete accounting data. Extensive experience reconciling multiple bank accounts over several years. Ability to identify missing, duplicate, and incorrect transactions. General Ledger (GL) Strong experience reviewing, correcting, and rebuilding General Ledger entries. Accounts Payable (AP) Duplicate payment analysis. Outstanding balance reconciliation. Accounts Receivable (AR) Customer payment reconciliation. Collections review. Outstanding invoice reconciliation. Inventory Accounting Inventory valuation. Cost accounting. Physical inventory adjustments. Ability to prepare and reconstruct: Balance Sheets Cash Flow Statements Supporting Schedules Month‑End & Year‑End Close Reconstruction Must have experience rebuilding: Monthly Close Year‑End Close Adjusting Journal Entries Closing Entries Historical Financial Reporting Periods Audit Preparation Experience preparing accounting records that are audit‑ready, including: Supporting Documentation Auditor Requests Microsoft Excel (Advanced) Must be highly proficient in: INDEX / MATCH SUMIFS Power Query Large Data Analysis Data Cleanup Accounting Software Strong experience with: QuickBooks Desktop Inventory Accounting Systems Key Responsibilities Rebuild approximately five years of accounting records. Reconcile all company bank accounts. Review deposits, checks, ACH transactions, wire transfers, credit card transactions, and loan activity. Reconcile and verify all customer accounts (Accounts Receivable). Reconcile and verify all vendor accounts (Accounts Payable). Work directly with warehouse operations to verify inventory movements and accounting accuracy. Participate in physical inventory counts when required. Organize accounting documentation. Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements. Rebuild month‑end and year‑end financial closes. Prepare audit‑ready accounting records. Improve accounting procedures and strengthen internal controls. Build a scalable accounting system that supports future company growth. Preferred Industry Experience Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly preferred: Wholesale Distribution Import & Export Inventory‑Based Businesses Reverse Logistics Retail Furniture Multi‑location Operations E‑commerce Required Experience Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. 7–10 years preferred. Previous Accounting Cleanup project experience is required. Mandatory Experience Applicants MUST have successfully completed at least one Accounting Cleanup or Historical Financial Reconstruction project involving three or more years of accounting records.
