Senior Accountant

Duties/Responsibilities Oversee the preparation of periodic financial statements. Ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. Assist external auditors and provide required statements and information for the annual audits. Review budget reports and assist other departments to prepare annual budgets. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures. Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Excellent management and supervisory skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer relations skills. Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment. Proficient use of personal computers, practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word. Able to travel as needed. Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required. Five years or more of related experience required. CPA and/or CMA designation preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times. Summary Why L & S Electric?
