HR Generalist

HR Generalist Location: Downtown Los Angeles Schedule: fully onsite | Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Duration: temp-to-hire Salary: $30/hr-$32/hr Job Description: Supporting the HR department with benefits administration, compliance, leave of absence (LOA), and workers' comp. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with processing LOA requests; communicate and provide necessary leave documents to employees and engage in the interactive process with employees Accurately track an update internal Leave of Absence log Respond to EDD inquiries as they pertain to state disability and UI claims Prepare personnel records for workers' comp and other claims Post job requisitions according to requests Present approved job offers to candidates; prepare and send candidate offer letters using the HRIS Initiate candidate background check process and regularly review for verification updates General benefits administration such as responding to employee inquiries and updates Provide support to the HR team as needed, including new hire onboarding QUALIFICATIONS Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel 2 - 3 years of HR administrator or generalist experience Proficient in federal and state leave of absence regulations, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc. Working knowledge of and experience with Paycom highly preferred but not required Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently and independently Great attention to detail and great organizational skills Excellent communication skills, reasoning, and problem-solving ability All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
