This contract opportunity near Laurel, DE, seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with a manageable caseload of K-6th grade students at a single school location. You'll collaborate with school staff to provide personalized learning and growth for your students over the upcoming academic year.

Schedule:

• 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (flexible scheduling considered)
• Assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through May 2027

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education degree required
• Eligible for appropriate state licensure
• Prior experience in special education classrooms preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive environments for children with diverse needs

Role responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to ensure academic progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families
• Monitor and document student growth, providing regular feedback and adjustments
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
• Foster a nurturing classroom that encourages confidence and positive behaviors
