Make a meaningful difference supporting students with hearing challenges in a consulting role designed for impact and collaboration. This contract opportunity invites experienced professionals to provide specialized expertise as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist within a dynamic K-12 school environment. As details on caseload, service model, and schedule are being finalized, your knowledge and flexibility will be key in shaping student success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for an Indiana Exceptional Needs: Deaf and Hard of Hearing license
- Background in consulting as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher or Specialist
- Experience working with K-12 students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and related service providers
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices in DHH education
- Comfort with both onsite and virtual service delivery models
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with educational teams to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Provide expert guidance on educational strategies, accommodations, and assistive technologies
- Assist in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to students’ unique needs
- Offer staff and family consultation to promote accessibility and inclusion
- Help assess student progress and adjust supports as needed
