Head of Curriculum Development (International)

1. Job Overview
As a core management role for the Group’s international curriculum system, this position takes overall charge of endtoend work including master planning, R&D iteration, system establishment, quality assurance and implementation of international curricula. Aligned with mainstream international curriculum standards such as IB and AP as well as the Group’s corporate strategy, the incumbent shall develop a localized curriculum system meeting international benchmarks. Responsibilities cover fullcycle work including curriculum content development, teaching standard formulation, teacher curriculum training, and curriculumeffect evaluation and optimization. Serving as a senior international academic manager, the postholder shall bridge cuttingedge global educational philosophies and inschool teaching delivery, drive the standardization, professionalism and featurebuilding of the Group’s international curriculum system, and secure highquality teaching and students’ global university admission competitiveness.
3. Key Job Responsibilities
(1) Holistic Planning and Establishment of Curriculum System
Benchmark against official standards and syllabi of mainstream international programmes including IB (PYP / MYP / DP) and AP. Formulate medium and longterm international curriculum development plans based on school gradelevel layout, student profiles and institutional strategies. Build a comprehensive international curriculum framework, defining gradespecific curriculum objectives, credit frameworks, core teaching priorities and graduationprofile standards. Optimize curriculum structure and progression pathways to resolve gaps and redundant content across grade bands, and deliver a schoolbased international curriculum system with both regulatory compliance and innovative features.
(2) Curriculum Development and Content Iteration
Lead schoolbased development, adaptation and innovation of international curricula. Oversee the creation of complete teaching resources including lesson plans, courseware, student task sheets, extension materials and practical programmes. Closely track curriculum reforms, assessment updates and pedagogical trends released by IBO and the College Board. Conduct regular content iteration, phase out outdated materials, and integrate cuttingedge academic concepts, transdisciplinary inquiry modules and practicalcompetency components to uphold timeliness, academic rigour and international standards. Initiate, develop and refine distinctive schoolbased international courses and integrated curricula.
(3) Curriculum Quality Assurance and Teaching Supervision
Establish a robust qualityevaluation and governance framework for international curricula. Develop teaching evaluation criteria, classroomdelivery protocols and assessment rubrics. Conduct regular class observations, lesson reviews and instructional inspections. Supervise international curriculum teachers to deliver instruction in alignment with official standards, identify implementation deviations and localization gaps. Evaluate curriculum outcomes via classroom observation, studentperformance analytics, learner feedback and academic reviews. Produce qualityanalysis reports and roll out improvement plans to continuously lift curriculum delivery and teaching effectiveness.
(4) Academic Team Management & Capacity Building
Oversee daily operations of the international curriculum academic team. Set annual academicresearch workplans, roleallocation mechanisms and performance metrics. Organize regular academic workshops, thematic research, lessonstudy sessions and teaching retrospectives. Deliver targeted teacher training and capabilitybuilding covering IBAP teaching pain points, examinationstandard updates, inquirybased learning and assessment frameworks to elevate teachers’ professional competence and curriculum implementation quality. Build academic exchange channels, leverage highquality global educational resources, and align team pedagogical practices with international best practices.
(5) Curriculum Evaluation & Outcome Enhancement
Develop schoolbased assessment mechanisms aligned with official internationalprogramme frameworks, incorporating formative assessment, summative assessment and academiccompetency evaluation. Monitor key metrics including student learning outcomes, academiccompetition results and universityadmission data. Conduct indepth analysis of curriculum suitability and learning impact to refine curriculum design and instructional pathways. Lead curriculumresearch projects, academicachievement submissions and teachingcase documentation to cultivate distinctive institutional features and tangible academic outputs.
(6) External Liaison & Resource Integration
Engage official bodies including IBO and the College Board to stay updated on policy changes, accreditation prerequisites and assessment reforms, ensuring institutional compliance with certification requirements. Collaborate with international schools and academic institutions worldwide. Integrate premium curriculum resources, research outputs and teachertraining assets to sustain continuous improvement of the international curriculum system and enhance the Group’s brand reputation in global education.
3 Job Qualifications
(1) Academic Background
Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in Education, International Curriculum Studies, Subjectspecific Pedagogy, Curriculum Design or related disciplines. Priority will be given to candidates holding authoritative credentials such as IB Examiner, IB Workshop Leader or officialcertified AP Instructor. Prior work or collaborative experience with IBO or the College Board is highly desirable.
(2) Professional Experience
Minimum 5 years of working experience in curriculum development, curriculum management or academic leadership within international schools, including at least 3 years managing endtoend IB curriculum development. Thorough mastery of IB PYP / MYP / DP framework, pedagogical logic, assessment regimes and schoolbased curriculum development methodologies. Proven track record of building and optimizing AP curriculum systems will be favourably considered. Experience in academic management at wellrenowned international schools in the UK or other European and American regions is preferred for this recruitment channel.
(3) Core Competencies
Deep expertise in official standards, reform updates, teaching priorities and assessment frameworks of IB and AP; proven capability to independently build, iterate and enhance international curriculum systems.
Solid competences in curriculum development, instructional design and academic management; proficiency in transdisciplinary curriculum integration, inquirybased course design and schoolbased curriculum innovation.
Excellent teammanagement, talentdevelopment and strategicplanning capabilities; able to lead academic teams to implement curriculum reforms and instructional improvements efficiently.
Keen industry acumen to identify globaleducation trends and translate institutional realities into actionable curriculumdevelopment roadmaps.
Bilingual proficiency (written & spoken) in Chinese and English; capable of independently authoring bilingual curriculum documents, academicresearch proposals and training materials for globaloriented work environments.
