Position Overview

Our client, a well-established, family-owned provider of managed linen and commercial laundering services , is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to support continued growth and modernization.

This role combines financial reporting, general ledger accounting, team leadership, process improvement, and systems implementation . The ideal candidate is comfortable owning the close process, working directly with financial data, developing accounting staff, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting operations.

What You'll Do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes .
• Prepare, review, and analyze P&L statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
• Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting discrepancies.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and day-to-day accounting functions .
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with established accounting practices.
• Lead, mentor, and support two accounting team members.
• Review team members' work and provide guidance, training, and development as needed.
• Partner with the General Manager, Controller, and other departments to analyze financial performance and support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, reporting, and workflows .
• Support accounting system implementations and modernization initiatives, including the transition to QuickBooks Online .
• Assist with audits, tax reporting, and requests from external accounting partners.
• Research and resolve accounting issues while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Help develop scalable accounting processes that support continued company growth.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
• Strong experience with:
• Month-end and year-end close
• General ledger accounting
• Account reconciliations
• Financial reporting
• P&L and balance sheet analysis
• AP and AR
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working directly with financial data.
• Experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments.
• Hands-on approach with a willingness to work directly within the accounting details.

Preferred Experience

• ERP or accounting system implementation experience.
• QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online experience.
• Experience transitioning or modernizing accounting systems.
• Previous experience training, mentoring, supervising, or reviewing accounting staff .
• Experience developing or improving accounting controls and reporting processes.
• Background within a family-owned, service, manufacturing, distribution, or operationally focused business environment.
