Float Phlebotomist II Duration: 3+ Months Location: Asheville, NC 28803 (291 Sweeten Creek Road) 7 McDowell St., Ashville, NC Float to other locations in Ashville, also travel to Hendersonville, and Clyde Shift: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mode of Interview : Video Vaccination/ Test: Hepatitis B TB MMR T-DAP We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to perform blood collection procedures and specimen processing in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, excellent patient interaction, and experience handling specimens while ensuring compliance with laboratory and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles. Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures. Verify laboratory requisitions and specimen labels for accuracy. Ensure proper specimen storage and transportation while maintaining specimen integrity. Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation. Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, and record maintenance data. Read laboratory results to respond to inquiries as appropriate. Comply with OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations. Attend required departmental training sessions. Required Qualifications Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting. Experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection independently. High School Diploma or GED. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Valid Phlebotomy Certification for the state of employment (where required). 2-4 years of overall related experience preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
