Position overview Academic orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon sought to help build one of the nation’s premier integrated academic Sports Medicine programs within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis Health. This recruitment is open at all ranks in the Clinical X series and aligned with the UC Academic Senate. Salary range The salary range for this position is $511,000 – $780,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description UC Davis Health is investing to create a comprehensive Sports Medicine program integrating orthopaedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, musculoskeletal imaging, rehabilitation, athletic performance, research, and community outreach within a growing Musculoskeletal Service Line. Based on qualifications and departmental needs, the successful candidate may be eligible to apply for the Chief of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Service and/or Co-Director of the UC Davis Health Sports Medicine Clinics. The selected candidate will advance clinical programs, educate trainees at all levels, pursue clinical and translational research, and care for athletes across the spectrum—from youth and recreational athletes to collegiate and professional athletes with Sacramento Republic FC. The position is ideal for shaping the future of Sports Medicine at UC Davis Health within one of the nation’s leading orthopedic departments. Located in Sacramento, UC Davis Health offers an exceptional academic environment and access to the San Francisco Bay Area, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, the Sierra Nevada, and the California coast. Expectations: This position will provide clinical care at least four days per week, and include teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participation in departmental meetings, conferences, and hospital/departmental committees.
