Software Development Manager, Frontier ADC

Salary: $170,000 - 210,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
• We require at least 3 years of engineering team management experience.
• We require at least 8 years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• We require at least 1 year of experience developing large-scale, multi-tier distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture.
• We require at least 5 years of experience as a software engineer, software developer, or in a related occupation.
• We require knowledge of engineering practices across the full software, hardware, and network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
• We require experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• We require a current, active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility or above. The selected candidate must maintain an active TS/SCI clearance and, after starting, obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or an equivalent clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
• We prefer experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leaders to gather requirements and explain software features, technical designs, and product strategy.
• We prefer experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineering teams to strengthen their skills and effectiveness.

• We expect this leader to use customer feedback and operational data to guide decisions, manage risks, and report progress to senior leaders and partners.
• We expect this leader to expand AWS Frontier AI services into new regions and improve the resilience and efficiency of existing services.
• We expect this leader to address infrastructure scale, service parity, deployment automation, security compliance, and long-term operational challenges.
• We expect this leader to drive operational issue resolution, automate repetitive work, build customer solutions, execute security efforts such as blocked-software remediation and host patching, and deliver service-parity programs.
• We expect this leader to develop strategies and mechanisms for deploying solutions across multiple services and regions while enabling the organization to scale without a proportional increase in operational effort.
