American Traveler seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist for a Level 3 Trauma Center OR, requiring 5+ years of experience and recent comprehensive neuro/spine case experience.

Level 3 Trauma Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center

19 OR suites with 17 rooms blocked, averaging 50 cases per day

Bariatric Center of Excellence and Advanced Spine Surgery Certification designations

Surgery specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, ortho total joints, spine, hearts, MI vascular, GYN, GYN-Oncology, robotics, general, HPB, bariatrics, urology, ENT, eyes, pain, and plastics

12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p, weekdays, 36 hours per week

Various shift times possible including 7a-7p, 9a-9p, and 11a-11p depending on need

No floating required

EPIC EMR used

Active license required, if applicable

Minimum of 5 years of experience required

Minimum 12 months core work experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year

BLS certification required

Certification preferred but not required

Recent and comprehensive experience with neuro/spine cases required, including Globus, robotic/navigation, ALIFs, TLIFs, ACDFs, and lateral/posterior/anterior approaches

Strong sterile technique skills required

EPIC EMR experience preferred

Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Scrub in on a wide variety of surgical specialties including trauma, ortho, spine, hearts, robotics, and more

Work alongside Service Line Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, Educators, ORAs, Unit Secretaries, and Tech Engineers

Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation

Weekend rotation every 4th weekend, either scheduled shift or call coverage

Call required, averaging 6 call shifts per 6-week schedule with a 45-minute response time

Call shifts include 11p-7a on weekdays or 7a-7p/7p-7a on weekends

Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays

RTO subject to manager approval

Scrubs provided and free parking available

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
